Cooperation between Indonesian & Australia on geohazard science

I subscribe to newsletters from the Geological Society of London, [https://www.geolsoc.org.uk ] wherein they often email out special discounts for their online bookshop. A recent list of discounted books included Geohazards in Indonesia: Earth Science for Disaster Risk Reduction, published in 2017 and edited by P.R. Cummins and I. Meilano. This Special Publication documents some of the recent advances made by Earth scientists that contribute towards a better understanding of geological hazards in Indonesia.

A quick Google search found that Pro. Irwan Meilano of the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) has contributed to 330 technical articles / papers that are listed on Irwan Meilano - Google Scholar in the fields of tectonic geology, volcano, earthquake, seismic hazard, risk model.

Also, Phil Cummins Professor of Natural Hazards,?at the Australian National University (ANU) has contributed to 313 technical articles / papers that are listed on Phil Cummins - Google Scholar in the fields of natural hazards, earthquakes, tsunamis, seismology.

I marvel and congratulate such cooperation, and encourage other geoscientists to follow in the footsteps of these giants.
