Coolest CRE Tech at CES 2020

We all love shiny new greeblies (sci-fi speak for all those technical buttons on your favorite spaceships) and CES is the perfect place to find them. As it pertains to the commercial real estate space, below are some of the most eye-popping and exciting tech that showed up at the big show.

1) Phyn XL 2

It detects leaks in your water pipes. Everything from frozen pipes and toilet flapper leaks, to leaving the water on and pinhole leaks. This is the commercial version and it's already been deployed on a wide-scale level in Sante Fe New Mexico.

2) Hydraloop

There are three kinds of water: grey (runoff from your sink and shower), black (unclean toilet water), and white (potable water). Hydraloop takes your greywater, which can account for up to 85 percent of your potential recyclable water, and lets you reuse it. They also have an option that allows you to save up to 50% of your washing machine water as well.

Install one, charge your tenants the same price for water pre-hydraloop, pocket the difference, and watch the money flow in. It also helps with those LEED certifications, which means you get to charge premium rent prices all while experiencing lower vacancy rates.

3) Shiftcam

Pictures aren't just for everyday consumers, they're essential for property managers and maintenance teams on the commercial side as well. Need photo documentation of a drainage mishap on the roof that's viewable from the ground? Save the drone and snag Shiftcam's long-range macro lens instead. What about a shot of the property or a specific unit for marketing purposes? No problem, use the wide-angle ProLens. And yes, they do sell deluxe packages for the I-want-it-all type of folks.

4) Picobrew

Remember how WeWork was offering craft beer inside their co-working spaces? One-up them with this in-house (potential) amenity. It allows you to make your own distilled spirits and liquors. Just don't "sell it" without a liquor license because then you're violating federal law.

Hopefully, this gave you some ideas on how you can continue to ride the crest of the wave that's all things proptech. Be sure to comment or ping me to let me know if this was helpful.
