Cool Jobs (for a Growth Mindset)

Cool Jobs (for a Growth Mindset)

Not so long ago, I learned a new term. The people people. Honestly, it took me a few seconds to get it myself, but it‘s actually as simple as it sounds. It‘s the people who work with culture, talent management, HR, leadership development and so on. In short, they are the people people.

I enjoy my interactions with people people and especially when they are of the forward-thinking kind with a strong desire and passion to change and shape the future for the better.

In particular, I see these people within scale-up companies where the constant battle for getting - and retaining - the best talent and shaping a culture that can sustain its entrepreneurial vibes while going through the growing pains of becoming a huge company is ruthless on everyone. Yet, they keep fighting while they experiment, learn and make an impact in many different ways.

Sometimes, I also meet with or recognize traits of these great people people within large companies. Today, I was reaffirmed that Raiffeisen Bank, a European banking group, really has some cool people people within their organization.

The reason is that Ulrike Potocki, Head of Learning Strategy at Raiffeisen Bank International shared a post with a couple of job openings within the people people space. I really like the wording and the sentiment she sets forth in this post.

Some snippets:

“Are you a familiar with?human-centred design tools, interested in behavioural change and eager to design transformational learning experiences for teams and individuals? Come and join my team as a?Learning Experience Designer

Are you following Simon Sinek, Adam Grant or Brene Brown and excited about creating a workplace which is characterised by?purpose and authenticity? I am searching for a Cultural Transformation & Change Expert as well as a Leadership Development Expert.

You are excited about the latest?tech trends?in the learning field, can’t wait to experiment and learn how to deploy them in order to drive workplace learning? As a Product Owner for Digital Learning you will be responsible for implementing state of the art learning technologies supporting our journey of becoming a learning organization.”

Some would say that there are quite many buzz-words here, but hey, they are definitely my kind of buzz-words!

Even though the cool jobs, Potocki shares with us are within the people people space, I hope they will look beyond this when they go through their hiring process.

In my view, such jobs are no longer just for the HR or “typical” people people. Such jobs are relevant for many others having a growth mindset and the skills to apply new things in a corporate setting. After all, what many of you (my newsletter readers) are really good at is to see new opportunities better than others and then create processes around this. See image below for more on this.??

So, maybe this is you or someone you know? You can check out the list of job openings here. Search for HR.

A disclaimer: I have spoken with Ulrike Potocki and others from her team a couple of times in the past although I have not worked for them.

A reminder. If you work with innovation, you are better than most at many things but two in particular. See my image.

Me too, I really enjoyed the post of Ulrike Potocki. It is interesting to read that now more than ever what is really important in choosing people is going beyond the routine tasks or responsabilities of a job title and start digging in attitudes and mindset. Thanks for your thoughts too Stefan Lindegaard. Interesting post for sure!????

Aligning individual strengths for these type of roles within organizations are critical. It makes me smile to see an emphasis on mindset, individual & collective growth and culture. Great work!
