I guess you leave when the applause is loudest.
A couple of days ago I saw in the news story stating that after seven seasons behind “The Daily Show” desk, Trevor Noah has signed off as host on Thursday night.?He announced his departure back in September, citing a desire for a better work-life balance and the freedom to go back on the road as a stand-up comic.
One would think that is he not at the peak of his tv career and just scratching the surface? That got me thinking. You know me and my random but not-so-random thoughts.
When do you know when to leave an environment? What are some of the indications that you have either outgrown an environment or the need to focus on other pressing life choices? How do you prioritize making that needed shift?
I imagine the decision akin to throwing yourself out there and just hoping that the decision taken will not backfire. We all love to have a sense of security even in our careers as that supports our livelihood. So the question is would we ever know the next step? What is the assurance but most importantly is the timing ever right for that leap of faith?

I remember when I had to take a bold step to leave the corporate world to pursue my passion for media. I love the radio and I love the TV. I knew I had to because if not now when? Until you take that leap of faith you will never fully understand or better still appreciate what life has to offer. Trust me when I say life has a whole lot more to offer.
I believe you and I will at a point in our careers take that audacious step in figuring out the next step of our lives. When that day comes I hope that we as Trevor did go ahead, and trust in our infinite capabilities as humans, knowing that the world awaits more and more of us living and thriving in our awesomeness.
Take that step. Trust your gut. Allow yourself to experience more of what life has to offer. Look forward with hope, and enthusiasm and embrace it all. It will be worth it in the end.
Cheers to embracing it all!
