Having Essential Conversations At Work

Having Essential Conversations At Work

My client Tom was in a sticky situation.?

He’d given honest feedback to two female members of his team who weren't performing well.

They both cried right there in his office.??

He felt terrible. He didn’t think he was being mean. He thought he was just doing his job.

Then HR criticized him for not being “sensitive” enough.

These are the kinds of struggles some of my male clients are dealing with in the workplace.

At the same time, women are feeling pressured to be more masculine in order to succeed.

So we have women trying to lead like men, and men trying to soften and tone down how they come across.

There’s actually a way to relieve the pressure on all sides.

See, success doesn’t require you to be different than you are.?

It only requires a skill set you may not have yet.?

I teach my clients how to use their greatest gifts, strengths, and abilities to communicate, inspire, and achieve…

Without compromising who they are.??

If you’re a man, it’s time to stop apologizing for being a man.?

And if you’re a woman, it’s time to stop believing the only way to get ahead is by being like men.?

And believe me, I get it. I know what it’s like to be passed over for being a woman. I know what it’s like to earn less money as a woman.?

I’m not saying the playing field is equal; far from it.?

What I’m saying is something controversial and a bit out there.?

I’m saying that your beliefs and the way you think actually contributes to what you experience.

My clients are advancing and feeling more comfortable as themselves in the workplace, whether they’re men or women.?

They’re achieving more than they ever dared possible.?

They’re no longer scared of ruffling feathers, nor do they find themselves in trouble with HR.?

What changed??

Their thinking. Their communication. Their permission to be themselves.?
