A Conversation with Michael Wildes

A Conversation with Michael Wildes

Some time ago I had the amazing opportunity to sit down with Michael Wildes, immigration attorney and mayor of his town, to discuss his career.

As a second-generation immigration attorney, son of Leon Wildes, John Lennon’s attorney, through his notorious immigration case, Michael Wildes tells us about immigration law being a family matter in his household.?

At this point in time, not only is he continuing his father’s practice, but his own children are now a part of the firm as well. An important lesson Wildes learned from his father is that as attorneys you can only practice law, never perfect it. It’s okay to learn from your mistakes.?

In my conversation with Wildes, we talk about having high-profile clients, and the importance of humility. You should treat all your clients with humanity and respect. The high-profile cases will come to you, you don’t need to seek them out.?

A very valuable point he brought up was creating that special bond with your clients. Not focusing on the transactional element of the relationship, but looking past that and spending time getting to know them. Finding a balance between giving more for less.?

Overall, this conversation with Michael Wildes was full of the wisdom that comes from practicing for many years and learning from those more experienced than you. It was a privilege to learn about his career, you can watch our full conversation in the video linked above.
