Tell our readers a few words about yourself. What do you do, and what are your hobbies and interests?
Hi! I'm Anya, and I'm a front-end developer. But that's not the main thing—I’m the proud mother of the sweetest little bun in the world! I'm a scanner personality and have dabbled in many interests. To list a few that have brought me the most joy: in sports, I love surfing and paragliding (with an instructor for now, but maybe solo someday), historical fencing and reenactment (from wielding swords and shooting arrows to meticulously sewing 14th-century German costumes). I also enjoy drawing, photography, and especially traveling (I've visited about 20 countries so far, but I definitely want more). I have a constant battle between my creative side and my analytical mind, which was evident when I was deciding between studying architecture and radio engineering—I chose the latter at the last moment. However, my desire to create with my hands never faded. Some of my long-standing hobbies have even turned into small brands, like making home decor and assembling jewelry. Though, I can't decide if I enjoy creating or photographing them more!
How long have you been with the company, and what are your responsibilities?
For me, being a front-end developer is a comprehensive description. But to elaborate, I write the code for the visual part of the game, ensuring that it functions correctly and looks good on the client side. I've been with the company for less than a year, since August 2023, and have already worked on quite a few games. Every game released feels like my own child, as you spend so much time with it.
Where are you currently located, and what are your plans?
Currently, I’m in Nizhny Novgorod. Before that, my husband and I (unfortunately, without our little bun) lived in Israel for a while.
Do you remember your first days at work? Any interesting stories?
Of course, I remember! I was very anxious about the large volume of new information (all the wilds and scatters were unfamiliar to me, as I hadn’t encountered such games before Mascot), and I constantly wondered if I was doing everything correctly. Also, I was confused by the abundance of people named Dima and trying to figure out who was in charge.
Tell us an interesting fact from your life.
It's a bit trivial, but if superpowers were being handed out, I would definitely snag the ability to change my hair color based on my mood (like Tonks).

Share a funny work-related story.
A funny memory: I used to frequently check the front-end work chat, afraid of missing something. One time, I woke up before work with my phone in hand and accidentally recorded a voice message in the chat. The message was sent, but I deleted it so quickly that no one ever found out what it was about.
What was your most stressful moment?
Possibly that one! And also waiting for revisions from Vika.
What advice would you give to your coworkers?
Keep your chin up, everyone—we can do this!
Pass the baton for the next interview. How did you meet this person?
I’ll pass the baton to Lesha? (sorry ??), he’s relatively new to our team and hasn't given an interview yet.
