In Conversation with Laura Adderley

In our latest article series titled 'My role at Radical Departures', we're finding out more about the #MedComms journey of each Radical Departures team member. Next up is Laura Adderley , interviewed by our Account Executive Nikita A. !

What is your current role at Radical Departures?

I am a Senior Account Manager.

How did you get involved in medical communications?

I studied Advertising and Marketing at University and hadn’t given much thought to specific sectors, other than a desire to work in an agency account management role. On graduating I started a temporary role within the marketing team of a medical device manufacturer. I found working on projects that could improve patients’ lives really rewarding and decided the healthcare sector really appealed to me. I later joined a Med Comms agency in the role of Project Coordinator?and my career grew from there.

Favourite aspect of your role?

I really thrive on being the main contact for clients and ensuring that we go above and beyond to deliver top-quality creative materials to support them in their roles. I enjoy seeing a project evolve as it goes through the development process, from an initial brief to a fully designed and approved piece that gets delivered to the client.

Most challenging aspect of your role?

As we have multiple clients with multiple projects, often with conflicting priorities, it can be a challenge to manage and ensure that resources are allocated appropriately. There are also last-minute changes to consider, such as prescribing information changes or invitations to pitch that need to be factored into the plan.

Favourite part of working at Radical Departures?

The best part is that every single person at Radical Departures is genuinely great to work with! There are no egos to please, everyone is willing and happy to help when needed. It’s a friendly team and we make sure to get together socially and professionally, as Radical Departures really do value a good work-life balance and allow for flexible working.
