A conversation with a friend on why I decided to become a product manager.

Friend: Hey Nzonda, I heard you're currently transitioning into product management. What made you decide to make that move?

You: Well, I've been working in marketing, design, and technology for close to a decade now, and I've gotten to a point where I feel like I've mastered those disciplines. I'm still passionate about them, but I'm ready for a new challenge.

Friend: I see. So what do you think product management will offer you that those other disciplines didn't?

You: Product management is a unique discipline that combines all of my skills and interests. I'll still be able to use my marketing and design skills to understand user needs create great products. But I'll also get to use my technology skills to build and launch those products.

You: Aslo, product managers have a lot of influence over the success of a product. They work with stakeholders from all different disciplines to gather requirements, define features, and launch products.

Product management is a creative and challenging role. I'll get to work on a variety of projects and solve complex problems.

For me, product management is a great way to make a real impact on the world.

I am particularly interested in creating products that people around the world will love and use.

Friend: That sounds like a great fit for you. But what about the challenges of product management? It's a pretty demanding role.

You: I know it's not going to be easy, but I'm up for the challenge. I'm confident that my skills and experience will make me successful in product management.

Friend: Well, I'm rooting for you. I think you're going to do great things.

You: Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm excited to start this new chapter in my career.
