In Conversation with Bobo Tang

In this article series titled 'My role at Radical Departures', we're exploring the #MedComms journey of all our team members. In this latest instalment we hear from our Junior Developer Bobo Tang ( Po Yan Tang ), interviewed by our Medical Writer Natasha Leese !

What is your current role at Radical Departures?

I am a Junior Developer.

How did you get involved in medical communications?

I initially started working in medical communications simply because of the opportunity to work with various types of digital platforms! However, as I became more involved, I discovered the positive impact medical communications can have on people’s learning experience. This realisation has brought an unexpected sense of purpose to my work.

Favourite aspect of your role?

I enjoy being involved in many different areas of web development. Working at Radical Departures allows me to engage with various aspects of projects, from development to brainstorming creative solutions. This provides great opportunities for learning and growth. We also occasionally have the creative freedom to propose solutions and transform requirements into functional features, which is fun!

Most challenging aspect of your role?

Working with different projects that use various frameworks can be a challenge, especially if I am not familiar with them. This means I sometimes learn about the technology on the go! While this can be difficult, it provides a great opportunity to develop my skills and expand my repertoire. Each new framework offers insight into different ways of working, which ultimately helps me grow as a developer.

Favourite part of working at Radical Departures?

My favourite part of working at Radical Departures is the people and the work environment. I have strong and supportive relationships with all members of the team! Everyone treats each other with respect, and the environment is very close-knit and positive.
