In this article series titled 'My role at Radical Departures', we're exploring the #MedComms journey of all our team members. In this latest instalment we hear from our Account Executive Annika Hanson , interviewed by our Account Director Maral Bodossian !
What is your current role at Radical Departures?
I am an Account Executive.
How did you get involved in medical communications?
I started at Radical Departures just after finishing my master’s degree. I knew I wanted to work in a role that uses some of my academic and research skills – having spent the last four years studying medical anthropology, medical communications seemed like a great choice! The field allows me to combine my interest in health and medicine with the people-centred nature of anthropology.
Favourite aspect of your role?
I love when I get to do something “out of the norm”, such as attending a voiceover recording session in central London or a film shoot in Belfast. These are great learning experiences and always bring something fresh and exciting to the role.
Most challenging aspect of your role?
Sometimes I am required to read really high-level journal articles about some of the complex therapy areas we work in. As someone with a background in the social sciences, they can definitely be a challenge to understand!
Favourite part of working at Radical Departures?
Definitely the people! I love working in an office with such a fantastic, welcoming environment. While we have fun together (and consume a lot of biscuits…), ?we also produce an excellent standard of work that I’m proud to contribute to. ?
