Converging Paths Will Soon Change the Practice of Radiology
What causes a new medicine, a new procedure or a new technology to become standard clinical practice? Clinical guidelines that drive clinical practice are “systematically developed statements designed to help practitioners and patients make decisions about appropriate health care for specific circumstances” [1] and are generally based on evidence found in the literature. So, is an increase in publications on a specific subject an indication of a coming change in clinical practice? I believe it is.
