I believe that as drive through fast food (QSR) grew and became less quick, convenience became an option. Convenience stores realize that Gas was a great connection to consumers. Additionally, that ubiquitous, great location, branded store, attracted consumers, who wanted to get a quick “snack“! As we have become a snacking nation, convenience stores have become the poster child for where to get those snacks! Convenience stores are truly the biggest threat to quick serve restaurants! If conventional supermarkets ever learned how to do HMR, they could also be a strong threat as well.

I recently read just how many doors 7-Eleven has. Wow. There is real power in C store placements.
