Controversial Viewpoint?

Is Facebook's ability to manipulate populations stemming from that populations lack of awareness as to their susceptibility into being manipulated in the first place?

It should be said that Facebook were not the creators of the act of manipulation rather they created the perfect storm for this act to be completed on a scale never seen before.

The first step in solving a problem is identifying that there is one. The reality is we are all susceptible to this influence and should one not be seeking to be exposed to these forces then one should take ownership of the situation and leave the platform in question.
