End-user technology

ControlUp launches ControlUp for Apps

ControlUp has announced a new component for its ControlUp ONE DEX platform. More details here:

Web app and UCC app management is an integral part of the ControlUp ONE platform. Earlier, it provided support to only a few major UCC applications. With ControlUp for Apps, ControlUp expands its coverage with the enterprise business application space and covers more SaaS and web applications such as Slack, GitHub, Salesforce, etc. This strongly enhances ControlUp's DEX capabilities.

Tanium makes AEM GA

Tanium has announced that its new Autonomous Endpoint Management (AEM) platform is now available for all of its cloud customers. More details here:

As explained in its Converge event in late 2024, Tanium AEM covers endpoint management, visibility, automated incident resolution, DEX and other Tanium solutions in one platform. Its proactive guidance and performance oversight are differentiators. However, I couldn't help but notice that it is still just one step behind the true agentic AI model. It still requires humans to approve and oversee many things, although it offers automated workflow execution for "simple tasks". But the whole idea of uplifting efficiency with agentic AI is to let it conduct some complex operations as well, with exception handling with humans. Maybe that's on the cards!

Parallels expands its partner program

Parallels has announced that it has expanded its partner program. More details here:

This is in continuation of Parallels' strategy to attract clients who want to switch from Citrix and Omnissa to its platform. The reach of Parallels is thin among some of the major digital workplace system integrators as partners. This expansion will help address this concern. Also, there are special considerations for partners targeting the SMBs and mid-market segment. Citrix's recent developments, including acquisitions, are also targeted towards this segment. It will be interesting to see how Parallels competes with its peers for these clients.

HCLTech digital workplace leadership changes

Rakshit Ghura the global business head at HCLTech announced that he will be moving on to a new firm. More details here:

Ever since my early days of researching digital workplace services, I had the pleasure of interacting with Rakshit Ghura, one of the key leaders in the field. It’s hard to envision the service portfolio at HCLTech or to have a briefing with their team without Rakshit. That said, HCLTech has many other talented and experienced leaders as well. I am eager to see who will succeed Rakshit, as they will certainly have big shoes to fill. I am also excited to think about where Rakshit is headed next. He is truly an outstanding leader in the digital workplace arena!

Connected and collaborative work solutions

Monday.com brings AI-enabled "services"

monday.com has announced a new Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform Monday service. More details here:

This is a great addition beyond the traditional scope of connected and collaborative work capabilities for monday.com. As explained in my 2024 report on connected and collaborative work solutions, clients look for ways to maximize their investments with existing technology, and there is a huge focus on consolidation. AI-enabled ticketing and service management are great ways to differentiate yourself in this interesting market.
