?? Controlling Deformation in Complex Machined Parts: Our Approach to Precision ??

When machining parts with intricate slot designs and significant material removal, deformation can become a serious obstacle. Removing large amounts of material from certain areas tends to weaken the structure, often leading to unwanted expansion or warping. This can make it challenging to maintain tight tolerances and ensure parts fit perfectly in their final assembly.
?? Our Solution? Temporary Support Welding
To counteract these effects, we developed a process that helps preserve the part’s structural integrity during machining:
Welding for Pre-Milling Support: Before we begin milling the slots, we add a welded support piece to strengthen the part temporarily. This prevents movement or shifting during machining, giving us greater control over the final shape.
Precision Milling with Stability: With this support in place, we proceed with milling the slots, achieving the necessary contours and dimensions.
Final Cut to Remove Support: After the slots are complete, we make a final cut to remove the welded support. While this process does introduce a small amount of expansion, it greatly reduces deviation, ensuring that the part maintains its design specifications.
This method allows us to achieve high precision with minimal deviation, critical for parts that need to fit tightly within an assembly. Our clients rely on us for solutions that combine innovation and precision, especially when working with complex geometries where every millimeter counts.
At ZC Precision, we believe in finding ways to consistently deliver high-quality, accurately machined parts, no matter how complex the design. ??
