Control Your Calendar

Control Your Calendar

There is a myth floating around culture, and it's been going on for a long, long time. There are quite a few versions of this myth but it generally goes something like this...

"You've got to GRIND 24/7/365"

or

"Hustle all day, hustle all night, hustle when your competition is sleeping"

or

"If you're not working 60-80 hours a week, you're not getting ahead"

or

"You can sleep when you're dead"

First off, I am a 100% believer in a strong rigorous work ethic. Not only is it healthy for you and your family, you truly need one. A strong work ethic, that is.

But the problem with the four statements above, if practiced over time will leave you exhausted, divorced, your children will hate you and ultimately you will be miserable.

Will you have made some money? Sure. But is the COST worth it? NEVER.

Is there a better way to be ultra productive at work. I.e. a high performer, go-getter, top notch leader, etc. without destroying what matters most? The answer is YES!

AND it starts with controlling your calendar. What you schedule gets done. If family time is important to you, SCHEDULE it on your calendar.

The current pace of life/culture is too strong and will ultimately blow you down a path you don't want to go if you are not intentional with your time.

Here is a peek inside my calendar for this week. I am going to be ULTRA PRODUCTIVE. My team and I are going to sell a ton of insurance. I am going to deliver powerful, positive and entertaining keynotes at my speaking engagements AND I am going to be present and fully engaged with my family. (Plus, I am getting a haircut on Wednesday).

If you would like access to my weekly calendar template I use, leave the comment #CALENDAR and I will send it to you for FREE!

Let's have a great, focused and intentional week!
