Control What You Can Control
Have you ever been frustrated in your professional or personal life? Life does not always go the way we want it and sometimes we have to deal with situations beyond our control.
I remember a time in my professional career that some decisions were made at my company that I did not agree with and that could possibly negatively impact my income. I was frustrated and mad and tried to blame everything on others. I was miserable and made others around me miserable as well.
I distinctly remember having an epiphany one night as I was tossing and turning and could not sleep. It came to me in a flash and I woke up with "Control What You Can Control" on my mind. I started thinking about my situation and I made a list of things that I could control starting right then an there. My list was short and sweet, but changed my life forever.
Here was my list of things I could control: MY ATTITUDE, MY WORK ETHIC, MY DESIRE TO SUCCEED

My whole outlook on my current situation changed in an instant! I started thinking and working differently and instead of negatively impacting my income it increased my income dramatically. I was happy again and having great success in my life!
Our lives are constantly changing day to day so this idea of control what you can control is something that needs to be looked on a regular basis. If you find yourself in a frustrating situation I would suggest making time for yourself to create a list of things that you can and can't control. Once you have a clear picture of what you can control then go all in on those things and let the things out of your control go.
This concept has helped me in both my personal and professional life and I know that if you spend the time working on controlling what you can control it will help you too! I challenge you to look at a frustrating situation you are going thorough right now and see what you can and can't control and see if focusing on the "cans" helps you get through it a little easier!
