On Control and Letting Go
We constrain ourselves more than we know. Our inability to let go of something, to trust another, to collaborate on a project. All of this constrains us.
Helen Keller said - alone we achieve so little, together we achieve so much - and it’s so true, however it requires us to see our ego for what it is.
It’s our ego that wants to believe only we can get the job done right, that others aren’t competent or aren’t to be trusted. Our sneaky ego!
While it does feel good to fully complete something ourselves, and we have moments of pride, it’s important to tap into what else we might be feeling. Righteousness? Frustration? Are the feelings of pride sitting alongside a negative view of others? If so, dive into that.
If we believe only we can do it, and others aren’t capable... that becomes truth. If we believe in the expansive nature of collaboration and trust, that becomes our reality and we truly start working as a team and will experience a much faster manifestation of our vision.
