Contribution of Women in Engineering

Entering into my professional life right after my academic life was a dream becoming true. However, doing a job in a field is a challenge itself and it becomes a battlefield when you are a woman.The same twists and turns are in my timeline when I entered the power plant as the only female employee in the power plant out of all men. Joining the power plant as the only female was one of the boldest and toughest decisions of my life and I didn't think even for a second that my professional life will be full of challenges ahead.

The journey was an exciting yet fruitful one as I was given immense exposure to the energy sector of Pakistan. Kudos to the technical departments of?Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) ?and a hand of gratitude also goes to Sir? Jonathan White ?from the?GE ?team, who appreciated my skills and abilities as an engineer and a female, which raised my self-confidence and I viewed myself as a "one woman army."Not only this I am also the right-hand of my Electrical Department.

Unintentionally, I became a positive?change maker and created a legacy of women in engineering at?Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) . Immense gratitude also goes to Sir Seo Jungkun, our former GM Electrical for raising my self-esteem and recognizing my potential as a woman in engineering. Sir Seo Jungkun is a perfect example of a real Gentleman and a true Leader.

Additionally, I helped?Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) ?to legalize, establish and lay the foundation of their foreign firm in Pakistan as I am the only one who is promoting gender diversity in the company, which has happened for the first time in?Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) ?history. Looking forward to a wonderful career in engineering and staying focused on my professional goals.
