Contributing to stopping Climate Change starts by changing your own lifestyle, for men ànd women

The best way to reduce pollution and contribute to stopping climate change is by changing your own consumption behavior. With great interest, I read an article today in Change.inc stating that men in Sweden use 16% more CO2 than women on a similar budget expense.
The research stated as the main reason that men spend more money on gasoline and meat, while women spend more on clothing and health care which is less pollutive. Interestingly, from my own environment in the Netherlands, it is very recognizable that men more often than women hold the steering wheel when traveling together and swipe the card at the gas station. This counts for the family setting, but also for dating, leisure with friends, and work traveling. Women spend more budget on their looks in terms of shopping, hair and nail styling which, generally speaking, obviously is a more exclusive thing for women. Somewhat exclusively, men spend more budget on meat (red meat is most pollutive) which is very recognizable at the course selection in restaurants where a man rather orders a steak than a salad, and a rememberable summer night cannot lack an oversized bbq.
Nevertheless, I found the conclusions in this research rather bold as it requires a much deeper distinguishment between who is the one registered for the purchase by swiping the card for the service and who are the ones enjoying the service. This counts for gasoline spending but also for meat purchasing. Similarly, you can think about for who women dress up and for who men make an extra round to show off their car. The research added that numbers were given for single men and women and that the average carbon footprint evens and drops drastically when looking at families.

The actual learning from this research and article is best taken when projected to our own environment and lifestyle; what is the impact of your consumption and how can you reduce it?
Today, it is only a small step to use an electric car, share rides, acquire solar panels to charge your car, use meat replacement products, more often choose a salad in a restaurant (I can recommend, it's also very tasty!), diversify your diet, shop locally produced and environmentally friendly colored clothing, and choose less pollutive beauty styling products. It is all available and you will even save money by changing your lifestyle in a just as enjoyable and probably healthier one.?

3 年I dont agree with you Alexander. The best way is to replace all fossil fuels and nuclear with continuum mechanics. You cannot compare alle lifestyles from around the world. Only rich people are responsible for climate change!
