Continuous Search for Efficiency

Continuous Search for Efficiency

Manufacturers have always looked for ways to improve their machining processes and work as cost-effective as possible. Sustainability also includes the dedicated effort to make products that stay in service longer, produce more output and require less upkeep. In the search for efficiency we have to look at every aspect in the value chain. At GF Machining Solutions for example, for over 20 years we have been promoting sustainable delivery methods to our customers. The In-out-In is a logistics system is a specialized equipment and planning that allows a more efficient delivery of machines to customers, while also reducing the packaging footprint of machinery dramatically.

Although the CO2 footprint from logistics is small, we are proud that In-Out-In allows us to save a further 42% in CO2.

With this efficient delivery method with thermo-stabilized transportation and light packaging avoids the disposable packing crate – and the customer can start using the machine on the day of delivery. As you can see in the video, this method also doesn't require the customer to use heavy machinery such as cranes for the placement of the machine inside the factory.

When we build lasting value, we reduce total cost of ownership for our customers as well. We keep looking for new opportunities to provide sustainable value to our customers – just as stated in GF's purpose: Becoming better every day – since 1802. For us, for our environment and most of all: for our customers.
