Continuous process industries-the drawback.

Even a minute power off jeopardises the entire manufacturing process. Same things happened in glass industries also like in viscose yarn manufacturing. You can not assure interference in power, labour and materials. Continuous supply is next to impossible in uncertain world. Anything can happen. I do...n't know, scientist can say whether a continuous process can be changed into a batch production, otherwise, profitability and viability will be the issues because starting from market to inputs of manufacturing, maintaining process without any short of hindrance can not be guaranteed. Our total focus is on how to transform from uncertainty to certainty. But a certain world where every resources are abundant and market is assured is utopian idea which can not be fulfilled ever. Constraint will be there. Constraint may change one factor another factor, like labour, raw materials, power, sale, natural calamities etc. can not be guaranteed. Theory of constraint says in each phase constraint is different. It shifts from one to another. Everything is not in your hand and you can not control everything. You have a circle of influence and control. But out of this cycle, nothing is assured. Let us drive for a certain world. And try to make your each process segregated, which many times not be always possible. Try to increment your circle of influence and control or else go to batch production where you can produce as per your demand. Adopt just in time delivery.
