No industry is stagnant. Everything changes. And if you don't change with it, your shot at success quickly becomes less than zero.

When Heraclitus said, “Change is the only constant in life,” he meant that everything in life is in flux, and nothing remains the same. I can't recall if it was in high school or college when I was first turned on to success guru Brian Tracy. It was a time when I was introduced to names like Tracy, Denis Waitley, Zig Ziglar, and many others. I remember owning a deep stack of his books on cassette and listening to them repeatedly.

Tracy once said, "Continuous learning is the minimum requirement for success in any field." After hearing these words and others like them, I was hooked. I realized that if I was going to succeed in anything I did, I would not only have to know my stuff today, but I would also need to keep growing and learning to remain relevant. My goal was not to have success today. It was to remain successful over the long run.
