Hey there, dreamers and doers!
I was reading "The Grinders Memoir" by Uwem U. , totally engrossed when BAM! I stumbled upon this mind-blowing revelation about Google. You heard me right, Google – the tech giant we all know and love. Even these guys, with all their brainpower and billions, have had their fair share of flops. Crazy, huh?
According to Uwem: "Google, with all its resources, have 293 products or services that just didn't work out and were killed, even to the horror of the users. Check this site out - Killed By Google"
Now, you might be thinking, "What's the big deal?" Well, please be sure to stick with me, because this is where it gets juicy.
I started pondering: does failing at stuff make you a loser? Or does it make you stronger? And what on earth do these setbacks teach us, anyway?
I remember reading and listening to The Paradox of Choice.? Ever heard of it?
Barry Schwartz talks about how having too many options can paralyze us. But you know what's been keeping me up at night? It's that nagging voice asking, "How long can I keep this up?" Sound familiar?
I'll admit, it's a legit concern. Nobody wants to be labelled as the person who starts a zillion projects but never finishes any. But here's the kicker: maybe we're putting too much pressure on ourselves.?
Hear me out!
We've got this weird obsession with finding projects that'll last a lifetime. But hey, spoiler alert: that's not always the goal.
Sometimes, a project's just there to teach us a lesson or scratch an itch. And you know what? That's okay!
So, here's the deal: instead of stressing over whether we'll stick with something forever, why not focus on what we can learn along the way? Every failure, every pivot, every "I tried, but nah" moment – they all add up to one heck of an education.
Think about it. When you've faced the unknown and come out swinging, starting something new feels less like a leap of faith and more like a stroll in the park. It's all about building that confidence.
So, what's your big idea? The one that's been gathering dust in the back of your mind because you're scared you won't see it through? Time to dust it off, my friend.
Take that first step, no matter how small, and see where it leads you.
Who knows? You might just surprise yourself. And even if things don't go according to plan, you'll walk away with a boatload of wisdom and the guts to tackle whatever comes your way next.
So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and make those dreams happen!
