Continuing On Purple Patch of Basketball

Enjoying the season of sport, before taking part in the major inter-school basketball tournament where top CBSE schools and ICSE schools from Siliguri would lock horns with one another we had Nirmala Convent School, Siliguri on our shore to play a friendly match against our girls who had been enjoying the purple patch in basketball.?

The respective captain introduced their team to a Chief Managing Director and Principal of the school and after a word of instructions from a respective match and line referee we had the ball rolling on the court with each quarter mark by a timeframe of 8 minutes.?

To cheer the home team and, create an exhilarating atmosphere for the players to push their limits we had our students in all corners of the ground waving the flag and singing the school anthem.?

Altogether 4 quarters were played in a healthy spirit of the game with students from both teams giving everything they could to win the game. By the end of the third quarter, the scorecard read 8-6 with NPRS leading by two points. The game was well-placed and with 8 minutes to go, both teams tried to outscore each other with NCS girls pushing hard to close the gap which created an opening in the very last minutes of the game for our girls to extend the lead by 4 points leaving the score 10-6.?

The game of nerve was now moving at lightning speed with a match on stake both the team displayed tremendous skills and persistence to corner down but as we know it is a game of margin, the NPRS with a lead of 4 points came out victorious at the final stroke of the game.?

The entire quarter was played in good spirits with players congratulating each other after the final whistle. It was good to see the maturity amongst both teams to come forward and acknowledge the effort of each other. After a friendly handshake, the spirited girls of Nirmala Convent School bid farewell with a promise to play more matches in the coming days.?

We congratulate our girls for scoring the victory against all odds and share our gratitude to Nirmala Convent School, Siliguri for participating in an eventful basketball match. We would also like to thank the school management, match referees, respective coaches, teachers, students, and volunteers for making this event successful.?
