Continuing The Journey: Month Two Recap!

Start off with joining the 2024 Inventory Accuracy Taskforce at PrefChem has been an eye-opening experience where i learned to highlight the importance of precision and attention to detail in supply chain management. As part of this task force, PLOSC collaborated with a dedicated team from SPW, PnO, SPT focused on auditing and improving the accuracy of our inventory records. This initiative is vital for optimizing our inventory management processes, reducing discrepancies, and ensuring that our stock levels align with real-time operational needs. The task force also provided an opportunity to engage with cross-functional teams, enhancing my understanding of how different departments work together to achieve our shared goals.

Participating in the stock take at the Marquee Tent was an important hands-on experience that deepened my understanding of inventory management at PrefChem. The process involved a detailed physical count of materials and products stored in the tent, ensuring that our inventory records matched the actual stock on hand. This task was critical for maintaining the accuracy of our supply chain data and identifying any discrepancies that could affect our operations. This experience not only enhanced my practical skills in inventory management but also provided valuable insights into the logistical challenges of managing large-scale inventory in a dynamic industrial environment.

Participating in the Business Performance Review for our contractor, Navegacion, was a significant learning opportunity that offered a behind-the-scenes look at how contractor performance is evaluated at PrefChem. The review focused on assessing Navegacion's contributions to our projects, including their adherence to timelines, quality of work, safety standards, and overall alignment with our business objectives. It was enlightening to see how key performance indicators (KPIs) are used to measure success and identify areas for improvement. Engaging in discussions with both PrefChem’s management and Navegacion representatives provided a clearer understanding of the collaborative efforts required to drive operational excellence. This experience also highlighted the importance of maintaining strong contractor relationships to ensure that all parties are working towards the same goals, ultimately contributing to PrefChem's long-term success.

Going fishing at houseboat Tanjung Belungkur with my office mates and the team from Navegacion was a refreshing break from our daily routines and an excellent way to bond outside of the work environment. The day was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and the thrill of reeling in our catches. This informal setting allowed us to connect on a personal level, strengthening the camaraderie and teamwork that are so essential in our professional collaborations. It was also a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the natural beauty around us, fostering a sense of balance and well-being. The experience not only brought us closer as colleagues but also reinforced the importance of building strong relationships with our contractor partners like Navegacion
