Continued Tech Acceleration in 2022

Continued Tech Acceleration in 2022

The holidays are just around the corner and often this time of the year gives us pause to reflect on the challenges we’ve overcome, the successes we’ve achieved, and the lessons we’ve learned as we turn a new chapter in just a few weeks. This year, I spoke considerably about our changing perception of safety and how technology helped us feel and be safer amidst the pandemic while grocery shopping, traveling, sending our kids back to school and completing our medical checkups in-person. As we look ahead to 2022, companies will lean into technology, once again to meet new and evolving challenges.?

Consider a few recent examples of how technology has helped businesses address challenges:

  • With organized retail theft becoming more common and violent, retailers are relying on AI-enabled video cameras access control and radios to prevent shoplifting and keep their employees and customers safe
  • As holiday travel continues to reach pre-pandemic levels, now coupled with the Omicron variant, airports are ramping up security measures with thermal cameras, video security and no face mask detection analytics to keep travelers and employees safe
  • Hospitals faced with workplace violence, patient elopement or prescription theft have come to rely on access control systems, video cameras and radios to keep their staff safe and secure restricted areas
  • Businesses affected by labor shortages have turned to innovative and automated technology to improve efficiencies and streamline repetitive, mundane and often dangerous tasks. Automation ensures employees are using their skills at full capacity and in the roles that they thrive

Technology and innovations has helped us navigate challenges over the last couple of years, sometimes in ways that we didn’t expect.? With the right planning businesses can leverage continued innovation and integration of technologies to thrive and add growth to their industry in the years ahead.?

Happy Holidays and a prosperous new year to you and yours!
