Continue your professional development online with our free webinar programme for Autumn 2022

As a new teaching year gets underway, our UK PD Events team has developed an exciting programme of free online Professional Development for the autumn term – available both live and on-demand.

Supporting teachers in UK Primary and Secondary schools, and across a range of subjects, our speakers are all experts in their field including classroom teachers, authors, publishers, and educational consultants. Kicking off the term, we’re excited to participate in Maths Week Scotland with a free primary Maths webinar on 4th October with professional development lead Louise Pennington FCCT .

This is quickly followed by two webinars showcasing OUP resources for KS3. Ceri Brinkworth, Content Lead at Ruth Miskin Training , and Louis Wilkes will join us on 5th October to explain how to rescue struggling Year 7/P7 readers rapidly with Read Write Inc. Fresh Start. Then on 18th October “Mr Maths” Craig Barton will discuss two pillars that underpin the Oxford Smart Curriculum for Maths: high expectations for all and curriculum coherence.

Moving on to GCSE History, we’re thrilled to welcome back Aaron Wilkes, whose webinar on the AQA Historic Environment for Sheffield Manor Lodge was very well received earlier this year (and is still available to watch online!). This term he is joined by Lindsay Bruce on 3rd November to explore Notting Hill, a new historic environment from the new Edexcel GCSE History Migrants in Britain topic.

We are also pleased to be hosting two events this term which will offer the chance to hear from several of our pioneer schools, offering practical tips and classroom insights. These will focus on Phonics for Primary Literacy and Diversity & Inclusion in Secondary Science. Dates TBC.

Finally, our programme this term is rounded out with talks from two influential voices in Education: Lorraine Petersen and Mary Myatt . Lorraine joins us on 1st November to discuss the anticipated governmental green paper on SEND, meanwhile Mary will be speaking on 8th November on how to instil curiosity and wonder in learning.
