Content...It's a Thing

Content...It's a Thing

I know a lady, we are friends on Face Book. I met her online when I moved to Florida and started prospecting local Realtor connections.  She always posts the cutest photos of her little doggies. She posts catchy and fun updates that I look forward to seeing.  On occasion she posts about her business.  I have since met her in person at various events and functions and found her to be a smart and savvy business woman. More importantly I have added her to the list of businesses that I recommend to clients.  Her social media posts won me over.  She wasn't in my face advertising. She presented herself as someone I wanted to get to know.  That is Social Media Success!

Another online friend is a Realtor who often posts about her 'Dear Old Dad' and his witty wisdom for life.  She posts fantastic photos of the birds and wildlife around her home, stories about parenting and her teenage daughter's escapades, and she is always upbeat. Her posts are fun and memorable.  I leave comments and she responds. If I were not a Realtor myself she would be the local Realtor I would call for my real estate needs.  She has found the right mix of fun and engaging posts and business mentions.  That is Social Media Success.

I have attended many classes on Social Media Marketing for Real Estate. They preach posting 90% engaging content and 10% business mentions.  I know what I am supposed to do and how to do it, but I don't always do it.  Why? Because I am human!  If I have a great new listing I want to show off I post tons of pictures and information.  I break my own rule.  I know that content is the 'thing'.  It's supposed to be engaging and fun and only peppered with business information, not steeped in it!  I am trying.  I recently downloaded a whole folder of images about coffee. In real life I am a coffeeaholic.  I am going to start a daily coffee posting with interesting and fun facts about America's favorite hot beverage.  I hope my FB friends enjoy it.  Check me out on Face Book to see how I do!  Kelley Raunec New Homes. Oh, and yeah, if you need a Realtor...hit me up on FB.  But please, not before I have had my first cup of coffee!

Women are very good at social media because if is natural for women to want to communicate about things they are interested in. My wife teaches me this every day. She is always looking for the next decorating or upgrade idea around the house and I just have to figure out how to do it. ??
