YouTube |?Mrwhosetheboss
"Mrwhosetheboss?may well be the world's best-known?YouTube?tech review channel. But you only have to spend five minutes on there to realise why. Recently - as a present to his new wife - Mr WTB launched 500 drones into the night sky above his own wedding reception. Remarkable video. Remarkable fella. And he started the channel from the back bedroom of his mam and dad's house in Nottingham."
Substack | The Swiss Ramble
"Love football? Then you'll love The?Swiss Ramble, on?Substack.?It's?the?definitive deep dive into the finances of English (and European) professional football. It's also the place where the background to most big football news stories is laid out most clearly. (Explanations of the headline-grabbing Financial Fair Play regulations, for example, are second to none.)? Swiss Ramble is written by lifelong financier Kieron O'Conner who lives (unsurprisingly) in Switzerland. The excellent general overviews of club accounts are free. The more detailed analysis requires a (good value) monthly subscription."
TV | Spy/Master
领英推荐
"Cold War espionage thriller?Spy/Master?on?BBC iPlayer?is real throwback TV. The storyline - Romanian spy chief, in pay of Russians, defects to USA - is compelling. The 70s fashions - that's cars, clothes, hairstyles and kitchenware - are jaw-dropping. Not certain I've seen so much coloured plastic since Habitat went into liquidation. But?Spy/Master?is a cracker."
Audible | Politics on the Edge
"As this seems to be a big election year everywhere, I read all 459 pages of?Rory Stewart's memoir Politics on the Edge?at Christmas. It combines (very) thoughtful political analysis with buttock-clenching honesty. It's also one of the best books I've ever read. Which is why I'm now working my way through 16 (yes, sixteen) hours of it again on?Audible. Absolutely tremendous. And a superb advert for the ubiquitous Rest Is Politics pod he hosts with Alistair Campbell."
Podcast | Nottingham Business School's Business Leaders' Podcast
"I know, I know... I'm slightly biased. But I still reckon the?Nottingham Business School's Business Leaders' Podcast?is well worth a listen. On the pod, an eclectic array of leaders share personal stories and leadership insights. From MDs and CEOs to military commanders and international sports stars, most guests are commendably candid. So it's an engaging listen. My fave episodes (of 49 so far) are Two Michelin Starred chef Sat Baines riffing on his early career in kitchens; and the first woman chair of the English Football Association Debbie Hewitt talking through her inspirational career. New episodes are recorded every fortnight, from September. "

We'd love to hear any recommendations you have and please?let Nicola Horner know if you would like to edit your own guest issue of ContentED.
Enjoy your weekend!?
