Content Server 16, First ride
The new version of Content Server was GA released last week and, obviously, we immediately started our tests to certify Module Suite on this new disruptive version. Good news: the first tests went just right. We installed our currently GA version 1.7.0 (with a few minor updates) and it just worked. No glitches, no issues. We then moved to our next version 2.0.0 (our target version to be used with OTCS16) and, again, everything was just fine.
The very good news, comes for us from the new SmartUI. The new UI can be described as a breath of fresh air: contents are very accessible, the UI is intuitive, responsive and FAST.
The interesting aspect, from our perspective, is, of course, the technology.
The frameworks used to build the new UI are, nowadays, among the most modern used to build the most complex Single Page Applications around the globe. I guess OT's answer to my question is definitely yes. Most importantly, they are pretty much the same we have used to build our own integrated IDEs, so we couldn't but approve the choice.
In this first week, it has been easy for us to create our first UI widget by just playing with the new UI. Our only concern? Will there be enough space in the Perspective Builder to host the huge library we are going to build?

8 年The Smart UI has potential and I really like it but there is quite some work left before we are there. Document Templates doesn't seem to work in Smart View (yet) and classification seem to be missing. I assume OpenText are on it and will have it in place with the coming updates.
