Content Pillars: a simple explanation

On one of our weekly coaching calls, a Silent Stormer told me she didn't get what content pillars were.
So?I?told her to watch the module in the hub?(??)
Joking aside, it's just another way of saying the themes of content you'll be?talking about.?
Because, when you don't have clear content pillars, it's hard for a potential follower to figure out whether to follow you or not.?
They'll think, "Hmm, what's in it for me if I hit that follow button?"?
"Will I get random content or content that's going to be useful to me?"
(it's ALWAYS about what's in it for them)
We obviously want to make sure they think the latter.?
Content pillars?also make it much easier?for you?to create content?because you're not flitting from one idea to another.?
You?have set topics to slot post ideas into, which means your overall messaging will be much cohesive, and so position you as an expert in your field.
How many content pillars should you aim for?
I always say three to four.?
More than that becomes too much and your message can get diluted.?
Less than that, then it gets boring and harder to convey what your ideal client needs to hear from you?(in my opinion) because your content won't be varied enough.
How do you create them?
It's a good idea to keep your content pillars quite broad, so that you can have different sub-topics (such as industry news, stories, tips, analogies, case studies etc) underneath them.?

Remember, your content?should always be aimed towards your ideal client and what they need to hear from you.
To give you an idea, mine are:
1. Introverts can get clients from?social media without changing who they are.
2. Why you need a social media strategy
3. Content that feels comfy

1 年I don't have any written down at the moment. Having a bit of a planning phase to make sure I have this kind of thing in place. I do try and keep to certain topics though so I may be kind of doing it without realising. Something to add to my to do list! and sort out this week! so it doesn't get moved on! ??
