Content Isn't King; It's Just Part of the Team

Content Isn't King; It's Just Part of the Team

The 5 Cs of social media marketing: content, context, community, consistency, and collaboration.

1. Content

Content that adds value wins every time. If your content looks good and helps your audience reach their goal, you're doing it right.

Make sure you're delivering good quality content with these 5 questions:

  • Who is this for?
  • Where are they in their journey?
  • Where do they want to go?
  • What's preventing them from getting there?
  • Does this post help them?

2. Context

This is more important than ever. With so many voices saying similar things, context helps your audience know you're talking to them specifically. Context ignores the crowd and speaks to the one. Context transports your text from the page into the heart of your reader.

3. Community

Human beings want to be loved, and they want to belong. A massive mistake people make is not being a human on social media, especially if you use it for business. Amid the hustle and grind of trying to grow and cultivating leads, we forget to be human. We forget to connect and care about the person on the other side of the comment. Talk to your people. Treat them like a person because they are more than a number on your monthly stats report.

4. Consistency

Consistency is everything. However, there's more to it than just posting on a regular schedule. Yes, posting at the same time on the same days can help with algorithm visibility, but consistency also means being true to your brand and values. Your audience wants to know what they can expect from you, both in terms of content and character. Be consistent in your messaging, tone, and engagement with your followers. This builds trust and loyalty among your community.

5. Collaboration

Social media is all about building relationships and connecting with others. Collaborating with other businesses or influencers in your industry can greatly benefit both parties. By working together, you can reach a larger audience, gain credibility by association, and potentially attract new followers who may be interested in what you have to offer. It also allows for cross-promotion opportunities, where you can share each other's content and further expand your reach.

What's your strength, and where could you use a boost?
