You've probably been too busy binging Netflix on all of your devices to notice but the entertainment business is becoming a real cluster! Everyone can smell money in the content and everyone wants to be the pipe/stream that delivers it to you. Some want to charge just a few bucks a month for their channel while others want to give it to you free - ok almost free. They're buying each other, jumping over each other, playing dirty tricks on each other and they all know they'll win. TV is exciting again...it's the wild, wild west.
