The Content Copy Secret You’re Missing

I’m going to scream if I see this one more time.

 

Your social media is not about YOU.

 

If I have to hear one more time from someone that, “I don’t feel like I would say something like that” or “That’s not what I like” I’ll flip!

 

Let me let you in on a little secret. If you’re doing social media in 2019 and expecting to attract clients, it’s not about what you want.

 

Marketing is about the client, the prospect, and the consumer.

 

It’s about the person on the other side that is studying you and thinking about working with you.  

 

When you make it all about you, you’re failing at supporting your clients.

 

You’re failing at taking them on a journey.

 

This is an epidemic and it’s driving me BANANAS.

 

I’m not saying you can’t have content that talks about your story or your journey, but self-centered marketing is total B.S.

 

If you feel guilty hearing me say that, it’s okay. I’ve been there too.

 

I’m a huge Mad Men fan and I love when Don Draper says, “It’s about the consumer feeling something”.

 

There has to be this spark that gets ignited in the consumer of the content.

 

Otherwise, they won’t take action or move forward.

When you read this book, a light bulb is going to go off.

 

You’re going to realize that you can’t position yourself as the main character in your social media.

 

You need to be setting yourself up as a GUIDE.

 

The one who is going to lead them to the solution that they’re looking for.

 

It’s about empowering them and taking them on a journey with you.

 

When your social media is used to take your client on a journey, you’re going to attract more and more people.

 

Your clients want to know how you can move them from where they are to where they want to be.

 

If you’re failing to the story about the prospect, it’s time to think about the shifts you can make in your marketing.

 

When you go from “Hey, it’s all about me” to “It’s all about the client” you have to change the way you choose to show up in the online world.

 

I often have people give me feedback like “This isn’t something that I would say” and I would contend that it shouldn’t always be something that you would say.

 

It has to ignite a fire in the prospective client and allow them to see you as that guide who can help solve their problems.

 

I want you to think about how you can make your client the hero on the journey instead of yourself.

 

Ultimately, to get to the 6 or 7-figure mark, it’s not about you. It’s about the client.
