Content Buckets create a win/win/win

When it comes to creating curiosity with your content, you can be clever but it's more important to be CLEAR! Trust me, as someone who has tried to be cutesy FAR too many times with my own marketing and messaging.

Clear is more memorable than clever anyway.

In an effort to share ALL of their expertise, lots of business people talk about far too many topics on social media. When they do, it makes it challenging for others to talk about them.

I want you to make it as easy as possible for your connections to say about you,?"If you need to hire someone for _______________, you must talk to?YOUR NAME HERE!"

Would you like to build a little ease and joy into your marketing with a simple tool?

I call them Content Buckets and they can create a win/win/win.

Simply put, a content bucket is an overarching or umbrella topic idea around your expertise. For example, with InSpark Coworking, my primary content buckets are Community, Productivity, and Creativity. Those then become a filter for what does or does not make it into my marketing copy.

Here is what makes them helpful:

  1. They help YOU create content with greater clarity through simplification - HOORAY!!
  2. They help?other?people talk about YOU. (mentioned above)
  3. They can attract the right people and repel the wrong ones. HUGE!

So, how do you figure out what yours are?

Let's take a moment to do a content bucket brainstorm.

  • Start a timer for 5 minutes. Write down everything you could possibly talk about that relates to your business and expertise. You may have categories and sub-categories on this list. That's good.
  • Next, it's time to whittle down these ideas to 2-3 main topics. From your extensive list, what can be gathered under one umbrella? (For example, if you talk about creativity, exploration, curiosity - they could all be gathered into one bucket,)

I encourage you to have 5-6 Content Buckets total. The others might be promotions, (because you have to ask for business from time to time) client stories, events, business partnerships, etc.
