Content Attracts Prospects... but Conversations Create Clients
Let's explore how to use LinkedIn to get more business

Content Attracts Prospects... but Conversations Create Clients

LinkedIn is a powerful tool for business owners and their teams. Used correctly, it can be a highly effective means of connecting with new customers, finding potential partners, and stimulating enquiries about your products and services.

What's the quickest way to improve your results?

Learn from the experts! If you want to get the most out of LinkedIn, you need to follow the experts and accelerate the pace at which you discover what really works. That's what this newsletter is all about!

It's also why, over the last few months, I've been interviewing LinkedIn experts in a series of monthly calls. In this newsletter, each month I'll hand-pick three short videos that will allow you to quickly learn some of the best tips from these experts.

In this first edition, we'll get some ideas from Angus Grady, Sarah Clay and Kevin D. Turner on how to use LinkedIn in ways that make it more likely you'll start generating sales and enquiries here.

Conversations create clients

First up, we hear from Angus Grady on the key point that conversations create clients. If I can attempt to paraphrase Angus' approach to LinkedIn, it would be that:

The whole idea of LinkedIn is to have conversations that create clients. It's not about broadcasting, it's not about selling, it's about having two-way conversations.

The more time you spend with Angus, the more creative approaches you'll pick up for making those conversations happen - without being annoying! We'll hear more from Angus in future editions of the newsletter.

How to sell without annoying

At which point, Sarah Clay picks up the baton on how to sell without annoying people here. It's really important that you understand this concept because it's so easy to get it wrong on LinkedIn and end up turning people off.

When you're selling on LinkedIn (or anywhere else), the key thing is that you make it about them, not about you. It's their problem that you're solving, not yours. And it all starts with generating expressions of interest that make your prospect feel like they have initiated the sale - rather than you having forced the sales conversation upon them.

Recommended daily routine

A key to getting results from LinkedIn (and any other social media platform) is to be consistent. You need to show up every day and put in the work if you want people to start noticing you - and to start conversations in ways that are effective.

But what should that daily routine look like?

Kevin D. Turner shares his recommended daily routine, the time commitment you ought to be making and some of the features on LinkedIn you should be taking advantage of.

Concluding remarks

I hope that spending just a few minutes absorbing these experts' advice each month will really help you to ramp up your effectiveness and results here on LinkedIn. If these tips have been helpful, please do let the experts know. Likewise, if you've any additional questions for us to address or you'd like to bring other people into the conversation, feel free to add a comment.

I look forward to sharing more ideas with you next month and hearing how these initial ideas have helped.
