Contagious
I'm one of those guys, who is annoyingly optimistic. I get along with just about everyone. Those who I don't, I still show kindness to. I have seen horrific things in my life. Both personally and professionally. And the one take away, is a negative attitude only manifests negative energy. And that is something I won't do. We are more powerful than we think. And it is what we think, that creates our power. Sounds simple? It is...but it does take work.
There are a lot of people who are motivated. I am not a big fan of motivation. Me...I'm in the corner with discipline. I've written about it many a times. Motivation will get you into the gym in January. Discipline will keep you there in June. If you can train your mind, there isn't anything you cannot accomplish. Believe that. And watch just how quickly your life will turn around for the better.?
You know why I am in the gym at 4:30 in the morning, 365 days a year? Because I am worth it. And it's not motivation that wakes me up. It's my love for life. It's my desire to live clean. And discipline is the vehicle that gets me there. We all have days that we want to quit. And believe me, the older I get, the more those days come calling. But because I have trained my mind, I push through it. I choose a profession that often finds me in inhospitable?places, with people dealing with the worst days of their lives. Motivation may get people to choose this profession. But discipline?keeps me here.
Attitude is everything. Can you remain calm as the world burns down around you? Can you suspend?your inner turmoil, long enough to get the job done? Can you acknowledge?that bad days are inevitable, but a bad attitude?is a choice? And lastly, on your darkest day, can you show up for yourself? Because in the end, you save yourself. An endless belief in yourself is the difference between the life that you want, and the life that you have.?

I don't have all the answers. In fact, I have very few. But what I do have is a desire to show up in my best form, each day that I have air in my lungs. I get it. Some of you are in it neck deep. But it's not too late. I believe that you are never too far gone to make a change. A small effort is the beginning to a big result. You have to see it in your mind, long before you put the work in.?
Optimism has put me in places that hard work could not do. I am in rooms because of my infectious insight. My upbeat attitude. My ability to be positive when everything around me screams that I should not. This is your time. Turn the page on behaviors that no longer sit well with you, or produce unfavorable circumstances. It will be tough at first. Some people will drop off. Others will judge you. But it will be your optimism that saves you. That lands you in a safe harbor.?
Ready for more?? If you do nothing else for the next 60 days, keep you inner monologue?upbeat. Affirm that you are worth it. Start building in your mind, long before you put the physical effort in. That, you can do. And if you can, game over. Because people and life respond to energy. Make sure yours is contagious.?
