Consultant or Colleague?

Consultant or Colleague?

Our country is in the midst of an absolute healthcare crisis that defies anything we have encountered before. First and foremost is our health, then comes the worry of keeping our jobs, our insurance, the economy, and all the residual fears this pandemic has brought with it.

Those of us who work in consulting (I am in Independent Security Consultant, but I am referring to any industry Consultants) have an integral role in how we assist and support the industries we work in. We also have a role in doing our part during this crisis. As Consultants, we should not just be sitting on the sidelines waiting for this to pass and picking up where we left off. We should dive right into the crisis and make the decision to be part of the solution.

Reach out to existing clients to see what you can do to help. Reach out to potential new clients-not as an effort to “secure the deal” but to see what you can do to ease the burden. Don’t think there is a role for you right now? My speciality happens to be healthcare security-there are a million ways I can pick up the phone and reach out, but just because your consulting field may not be as directly impacted by COVID-19 as healthcare, there are ways you can help your industry. If you are not sure how, brainstorm with other Consultants in your field, perhaps collectively you may be able to do more.

It’s time to be a Colleague. It’s time for Consultants to step up.

Michael S. D'Angelo, CPP, CSC, CHPA I couldn't agree more. During these difficult times, I appreciate the ability to rely on you as not just a consultant but a trusted colleague. May not always be the advice I want but is always 100% spot on and needed. Thank you!
