Construction Viz and Workflow Management

Workflows are critical for managing projects in a Project Management Information System (PMIS). They are used in many scenarios such as routing forms for review, populating fields based on conditions, and emailing content for review and approval, to name just a few. 

All our Construction Viz Apps have pre-configured workflows, so you get started right out of the gate, without needing to worry about the cost and complexity that can come with managing workflows. Further, because we have developed a custom workflow engine, as part of Construction Viz, no matter how unique your processes are, we can embed your custom requirements directly into our Apps.  Ad hoc Responder workflows are also included with our Apps that provide the ability to add multiple review and approval steps, as needed, complete with “ball in court” tracking. 

Construction Viz can also harness one of the most powerful workflow engines, Microsoft SharePoint. SharePoint is the #1 Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system in the world and includes many options for building and supporting workflows.

• SharePoint Out of the Box Workflow.  Out of the box, SharePoint has a few simple workflows that can be linked to any content. The configuration is limited but available to all users. This can be done by a novice SharePoint user.
• SharePoint 2010 and 2013 Designer. SharePoint Designer is a separate application that is installed on your desktop. It is a very powerful tool for building workflows as well as modifying pages, web parts, etc. There are also third-party SharePoint Designer workflow add-ins that are available to extend the workflow capabilities even further. Almost any workflow scenario can be configured by an experienced SharePoint user.
• SharePoint Third Party Workflows. There are many third party SharePoint workflow tools. Capabilities vary, but most can be configured by an experienced SharePoint user.   
• Flow. With the release of SharePoint Office 365 and SharePoint 2019, Microsoft has included Flow. Flow is becoming an incredibly powerful workflow tool that can even extend to other applications besides just SharePoint such as Excel, Dynamics, and even Twitter and other social and cloud systems, natively. Flow workflows can be easily configured by an experienced SharePoint user.
