PROJECT OVERVIEW

Construction began in January 2018 and is expected to be complete mid 2021, weather permitting.

  1. Adding three flyovers at the I-35/US 183 interchange
  • I-35 southbound to US 183 southbound
  • US 183 northbound to I-35 northbound
  • I-35 southbound to US 183 northbound

 2. Improving the existing I-35 northbound to US 183 northbound flyover

  • Rebuilding St. Johns Avenue bridge
  • Constructing new frontage road U-turns in both directions at St. John's Avenue
  • Constructing new intersection bypass lanes under the St. Johns bridge in both directions

3. Adding extended entrance/exit lanes

4. Reconfiguring and improving ramps and shoulders

5. Improving bicycle and pedestrian sidewalks and paths
