Construction Process and Conditions of PVC Flooring

I. Construction process:

1, Ground testing: ground flatness, ground moisture content, ground strength.

2, Ground pre-treatment: a complete clearance to the ground.

3, Ground base treatment. (Self-leveling construction)

4, Self-leveling construction mixing.

5, Self-leveling construction pavement and exhaust relief.

6, Ground polishing, line drawing. Flooring roll unfold and outspread.

7, Ground paint with glue.

8, Flooring pavement, alignement, and roll extrusion.

9, Flooring slot, hot welding.

10, Flooring surface cleaning after construction, the process is completed.

II. Construction conditions:

1. Ceiling projects completed including fire, lighting engineering.

2. Wallpaper and paint works completed.

3. Underground cable projects completed, including computer lines and any related mechanical and electrical works.

4. No water and wet areas on the ground, no cement mortar.

5. Before construction, the ground must be clean, leaving no other types of work unfinished.

6. Indoor temperature is no less than 15 degrees Celsius.

7. Doors, windows, locks and other projects completed.

8. Water and electricity should be provided. Elevators for High-level buildings.

9. Ground treatment should be done when cracks, puff, sand loose, and ground level tolerance larger than 5mm.

Construction scheme of PVC Flooring

I. Ground requirements

1, Clean, dry, no grease, no loose sand, cracks, hollowing etc. No rough feeling by hand touch.

2, Check the flatness of the ground (with the ruler to check no more than 3mm), if necessary, use the ground grinding machine or professional ground leveling material to fill the concave parts to achieve the best effect.

3, The cement ground strength should not be less than concrete C-20 requirements, or else, self-leveling should be applied to strengthen the intensity.

4, Moisture test equipment should be used to monitor the water content of base ground, which should be less than 3%. Basement or wet ground should apply appropriate water treatment during ground construction, and before flooring installation, the ground should be completely dry.

* Simple detection method: put a piece of flat flooring on the construction site, seal the four sides sealing tape completely on the ground. Oppress with heavy pressure, after 24 hours, open the flooring, if there is no water droplets or watermarks, construction could start, the testing should be taken at different sites, the number of test points depend on the size of the site.

II. The humidity / temperature requirements

1, The relative humidity during construction should be no greater than 75%.

2, The indoor temperature should not be less than 15 degrees Celsius.

III. Ground detection

1, Use thermometer to detect indoor temperature, 15 degrees Celsius is appropriate, of which should not be in the range of 5 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. The relative air temperature should be between 20% and 75%.

2, To use the moisture content tester to detect the water content of ground, which should be less than 3%.

3, The strength of the cement ground should be no less than C-20 requirements, or else, self-leveling should be used to strengthen the intensity.

4, Use the hardness tester to test the ground surface hardness, which should be no less than 1.2 MPa.

IV. Ground pre-treatment

1, Use grinding machine larger than 1000 watts to for the overall grinding on the ground to remove the paint, glue and other residues, embossments and loose plots, hollow drums must also be removed.

2, Use industrial vacuum cleaner no less than 2000 watts for cleaning on the ground surface.

3, For the cracks on the ground, stainless steel reinforced ribs and polyurethane waterproof adhesive could be used together with quartz sand for repairing.

V. Self-leveling construction (can be selected according to ground conditions)

1, Ground clean ahead of construction

Clean the surface stains, grease, sand, dust. For the small area of the pits or bumps, single ash can be used in advance to fill the pits or use blade to remove protruding areas and polisher to flat boss. After all, clean thoroughly by the industrial vacuum cleaner.

Tools required:

(1) Blade: to cut the protruded surface, such as cement scar, plastic scar, putty, paint, etc. Suppliers: Wolf Country of origin: Germany

(2) Grinding machine: self-leveling construction, used to polish the ground into flat to get a initial leveling surface. Supplier: Wolf Country of origin: Germany

(3) Vacuum cleaner: to clean the ground residue thoroughly. Supplier: Zamry Country of origin: China

2, Roller coating interface agent

    Firstly, put the interface agent into the bucket, and use wool roller to coat on the cleaned ground evenly, then dry naturally. For a particularly dry or slightly sanded  ground, mix the interface agent with water half and half and then do the roller coating. If necessary roll twice depending on the surface of the water absorption, but it should be noted that the second rolling should be after the air dry.

Materials and tools used:

(1) Henkel "proper" R777 multi-purpose treatment agent

Suitable for base ground such as concrete, cement mortar etc.

(2) Interface bucket: to fill in or diluting the interface agent. Supplier: Henkel

(3) Roller: to coat the interface agent by roller on the ground after being cleaned. Supplier:

Wool with good water absorption.

3, Self-leveling operations on cement ground

After the interface agent is air-dried. Firstly prepare 6 liters of water (hot water prohibited) into the bucket, and then add a bag of self-leveling cement 25 liters (cement should be added with stirring at the same time). Mix with a stirrer for about 2-3 minutes, park it for 3-5 minutes and then stir for 1 minute (stir the self-leveling cement evenly and roll the gas immediately with a needle roller.)

After the work is completed, the room is strictly prohibited any personnel entry, usually under the conditions of 4 hours in normal temperature (depending on the real site temperature) after the initial condensate, the working staff can enter, but loading operations must be strictly prohibited in this area because the self-leveling cement need 24 hours to dry completely, also to avoid the direct collision and pressure on the ground.

After the self-leveling cement is dry, polish the surface with a grinder and clean it with a vacuum cleaner.

Now, a ground that conforms to the requirements of the PVC flooring is present in front of you, its surface is flat, hard, and in dark gray color.

Materials and tools used:

(1) Recommended: Henkel "proper" DX self-leveling (intensity: 25-30 MPa) Country of Origin: China.

Applicable to the grounds such as concrete, cement mortar, stone, tiles, asphalt etc.

(2) Mixing bucket: To fill in water and self-leveling cement. Supplier: Henkel

(3) Hammer: Stirrer tool.

(4) Stirrer: For self-leveling cement stirred evenly.

(5) Scraper: To spread out he self-leveling cement evenly.

(6) Spikes: To help roller for air release.

(7) Needle roller: Rolling pressure release.

(8) Grinding machine: The initial step for grinding off the self-leveling cement oxide layer.

4, The flooring installation - pre installation and cutting

1). Whether it is a roll or a block, it should be placed on-site for more than 24 hours, for the material memory reduction, and material temperature consistent with construction site.

2). Cut the edge by using of special trimming machine on the flooring.

3). For block flooring installation, the two materials should be close enough and no seams.

4). For roll flooring installation, the two materials should be overlapped with the overlap of cutting, the general requirements overlap is 3 cm. Pay attention to a complete knife off.

5, The flooring installation - paste

1). Select corresponding glue and scraping plate according to the performance of the flooring.

2). For the roll flooring installation, the flooring should be folded at one end. Clean the ground and the back of the flooring roll, and then joint the floor on the ground.

3). For the block flooring installation, turn the block from the middle to both sides, do the same step of cleaning and joint.

4). Different adhesives in the construction requirements will be different, installation should be with specific reference to the corresponding product manual.

6, The flooring installation - aligning and rolling.

1). After the flooring pasted, use a soft wood to smooth the surface and push out of the air.

2). Press by a 50 or 75 kg of steel roller evenly to roll the floor and to repair timely on the stitching edges.

3). Wipe off the excess glue in time.

4). 24 hours later, slot and weld.on the flooring.

7, The flooring installation - slotting.

1). Slotting must be carried out after the glue is fully solid. Use the special slotter to slot along the seam, the slotted lines should not be throughly to the bottom, the proposed slot depth is to the flooring thickness of 2/3.

2). Use the manual slitter to open the same depth and width at the end of the slotter's inoperable positions.

3). Before the welding, to remove the residual dust and scrap in the cutting tank.

8, The flooring installation - welding

1). Manual welding gun or automatic welding equipment are both optional.

2). The temperature of the welding gun should be set at about 350 degrees.

3). Extrude the welding rod in even speed into the slotted areas with appropriate welding speed (to ensure the proper melt of the welding rod).

4). When the welding rods are half-cooled, cut off the remaining parts with the electrode dresser or lantern cutter, generally for the two times, to make the seams completely flat.

9, The flooring installation - line drawing

1). Clean the flooring surface, draw lines according to the technical drawings.

2). To confirm with the line with the first party.

3). Connect with tapes.

4). Draw the lines (by using specified paints).

5). Clean up the tapes.
