STAGES IN BUILDING A HOUSE 

1.Site Clearence 

2.Setting Out(commonly called "pegging")

3.Foundation Excavation

4.Footing

5.Brickwork to floor level

6.Backfilling

7.Compaction of backfilled material

8.Slabbing

10.Brickwork to window level

11.Ring beam

12.Brickwork to wall plate level

There are other stages like beam filing,screeding,flooring,plastering and these can be done even after brickwork is completed

Some contractors charge each and every stage so that after completion of that stage payment is done.This is for simple normal houses which are not storey ones.
