THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW SARAWAK BELUX OFFICE & LOGISTICS CENTRE HAS STARTED!

Sarawak Belux is building a new office and logistics centre on the West Gate business park in the Gossetlaan in Groot-Bijgaarden (Dilbeek).

Sustainable and circular construction

We have just started the works for the realization of a new Sarawak Belux headquarters with logistics centre. The building will be located on the West Gate business park and will have a total surface area of 3,464 m2. On the ground floor there will be a warehouse with the space for a retail lab. The upper floors will house the commercial departments, the Sarawak Academy and the back-office.

During construction, much attention will be paid to sustainability and the environment. The Head office will be a sustainable BEN (near-zero energy) building. Among other things, there will be solar panels, rainwater will be recovered as much as possible and all office spaces will have climate ceilings for heating. Furthermore, the building will also be constructed in a modular and circular fashion, which means that material can be recycled or re-used in case of any renovation work.

“As a company, we want to put more effort into sustainable business. The move towards a near-zero energy building is a first step and furthermore all company cars ordered from 2022 onwards will be electric or hybrid.” said Guy Maindiaux, President of the Sarawak Group.

Sarawak expects to move into the new buildings just after the summer, in order to be ready for a busy end-of year period in the best possible conditions.
