Top 10 project launches in the Middle East in October 2022

Aren't we all excited about the winter months? Time for events, festivities, and holidays! But in the region's real estate industry, developers have been busy celebrating the launch of some of the most innovative, creative, and large-scale developments.

From high-rise luxury residential projects to villas by a lagoon, community-focused waterfront development?to ELIE SAAB-designed project, the region's developers don't cease to surprise.

The Middle East’s construction landscape is seeing an influx of uniquely designed projects that showcase the creative talents of architects and developers. As a matter of fact, we are seeing this, not only with major master developers, but also with boutique developers.

Egis consortium becomes Independent Safety Assessor for NEOM THE LINE

We've been covering announcements after announcements coming from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) backed NEOM 's THE LINE. Work has already begun on the futuristic development which s a linear urban city of hyperconnected communities with walkable neighbourhoods, powered by 100% renewable energy.

NEOM has now appointed Egis , its subsidiary AuditSafe , and its partner CERTIFER to act as the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) for the railway system in?THE LINE?and the NEOM Industrial City Connector (NICC).

Egis and consortium's scope in a nutshell

  • Acting as an ISA at the overall system-wide level; Performing assessment tasks to obtain the required licenses; Assessing the safety organisation and its responsibilities; etc

As technological advancements sweep into the construction industry, we are frequently reminded of their benefits in not only saving time and money but also in managing on-site manpower and promoting health and safety. The construction industry witnessed this firsthand during the pandemic!

One technology that is helping build faster with minimal costs is 3D printing. While the Middle East is gradually adapting the technology for various projects, Saudi Arabia has been in the news recently for unveiling the first 3D Construction Printed (3DCP) villa, developed by Dar Al Arkan .

Event highlight of the week!

This week we opened registration for the Women in Construction Conference to be hosted on 29 November 2022 at the Taj Exotica, The Palm in Dubai.

Women are making significant strides in the construction industry as leaders, innovators, young achievers, and models of inspiration. Through the conference, we not only celebrate these women and young girls making waves in the sector but also provide them with a platform to ask questions and gain knowledge from the experience of industry leaders.

HE Shamsa Saleh of UAE Gender Balance Council joins the Women in Construction Conference

HE Shamsa Saleh is the Secretary General of the UAE Gender Balance Council (UAE GBC), a federal government entity responsible for developing and implementing the gender balance agenda in the UAE.
