Constructing schedules for Roots-17/02/23

As a filmmaker, planning the shooting schedule for my short film was difficult but satisfying. To ensure we stayed on schedule and within budget, I had to carefully plan every aspect of the production, from pre-production to post-production. I also had to work closely with my cast and crew.

Pre-production was where I started, and I made a list of everything that needed to be done, like scouting locations, casting actors, and making a shot list. I then established deadlines for each task and closely coordinated with my team to ensure we met each one.

After the pre-production was finished, myself, Ryan and Cole had a meeting where we started planning the shooting schedule. we considered elements like the crew and actor availability, the time of day we would be shooting, and what locations we would be shooting at each day. We also left room for flexibility to take into account any unforeseen situations that might occur.

To keep my team motivated and refreshed throughout the production process, I made sure to schedule breaks and downtime. I also maintained my sense of reality and avoided trying to cram too many tasks into a single day or the week because I was aware that doing so might result in burnout and errors.

Overall, I learned the value of careful planning and strong communication from developing the shooting schedule for my short film. In order to ensure that we delivered a high-quality film on time and within budget, I had to work closely with my team, which helped me develop my leadership and organisational skills.
