A dilemma in structural development. a bitter truth.

"Constructing To Destruct"

Having spent much time of my life in the Kingdom from childhood to now nearly 23 years, and working for the construction industry in the Middle East, I can well say that all these structures and developments have changed the entire look of the region.

The industry has done a marvelous job in KSA and around the region. It has shaped and is reshaping not only the lifestyle but bringing in new conceptual changes among the natives.

I was in the tri-city area, of Dammam - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia over this weekend & enjoyed a cold salad and a mint margarita in one of the finest beach restaurants called salt.

There are numerous other gigantic projects in line & on the way to establish and open doors to economic & cultural bridges for and around the region. Hopefully, my company M/S Bostan Eastern SMC (Pvt) Limited is going to be a part of this sector, in the very near future, God Willing.

The only dilemma in the development in my opinion, observation & hearing stories, and studying cases is the curse of 'corruption'. Few unethical organizations, since there are always good, bad & ugly, are exhausting the finance for personal gains. Shouting out the agony & pain to the client of the HR adjustments, workforce expenses, and so forth.

The fact of the matter is, companies are never bad, it's the people.

The truth is that the above-mentioned factors and other challenges are not the major ones causing the slow developments, in some projects, and are easily manageable. It is dishonesty and self-created obstacles.

Whereas, the clients should also ponder on timely payments and create ease at every step for the contractors. It is a dual carriage toward the same destination.

This way of toxic approach by a few toxic people is not only harming the objectives and goals of the clients but in turn, exploiting the characters of the staff and workers in such organizations. It is truly sad.

I can only observe and suggest that new paradigms of accountability, be introduced and reviewed by the clients and authorities to control this menace.

Honesty is a trait hard to be found, but sound control, reporting channels, and systems can do the trick and create a healthier, ethical working style.

There is no harm in making money the right & honest way.

The future development of any country highly depends on the quality efforts, accountability, and integrity of the people working behind the scenes and at the forefront. In the construction sector, I also believe the authorities and clients should agree on legal measures to check any insecurity. I enjoyed reading this article Ghazanfar Khan PMP? HOC?.
