We recapped #PrideMonth at EllisDon! ??????????

This Pride Month, we're proud to have hosted several events and initiatives that highlighted the contributions and experiences of our LGBTQ+ community. From participating in local Pride events across the country, decorating our Tree of Pride in our Middlegate office, and walking in the 2024 Toronto Pride Parade, we came together to learn, share, and support each other.

As Dustin Victor or, Quality Coordinator in Kamloops, BC and member of our employee-led group, Proud Employees for Allyship, Community, and Education (PEACE), says, "EllisDon's support and enthusiastic participation in Pride events across the country is not only about celebrating diversity, but also about building relationships within our communities and affirming that we are a safe space for all. Together, we stand for unity, love, and respect."

We presented the vibrant Sam Centre in Calgary, Alberta - a unique facility giving visitors year-round access to the history of the The Calgary Stampede and its original creators!

We're proud to have been a part of this exciting project with our Mass Timber group and Quality Assurance/Quality Control team bringing it to life. Anthony Mallat , Superintendent of the Sam Centre site, sums up the project perfectly: "It was a lot of fun being a part of this project and I would do it all over again."

We're proud to have been a part of such a unique and exciting project, and we look forward to showcasing more of our work in the future! Yeehaw ??

Meet Mohammed Al-Salem , Manager of Community Benefits and Relations at EllisDon!

We are proud of the work he does as he exemplifies our commitment to making a positive impact in communities. Beyond his role here, Mohammed is also the Executive Director of his own non-profit, Play Forever, working tirelessly to uplift communities.

We have partnered with Play Forever to better assist those in need and to create long-lasting impact beyond the projects we build. Through Mohammed's leadership, our partnership initiatives extend far beyond construction. At EllisDon, we collaborate with youth and various community members in the areas we build with efforts to providing employment opportunities, recreational programming, and more.

Current programs that EllisDon and Play Forever are conducting include S.T.E.A.R (Skilled Trades Exploration and Readiness Program), the Thrive Youth Program in Richmond Hill, and community projects in Keswick, Ontario. These initiatives offer free sports activities while featuring guest speakers who discuss career exploration in the trades.

Together, we are building stronger, more vibrant communities—one project at a time.

Project Spotlight: The Well

We're thrilled to spotlight The Well, one of Toronto's most notable multi-use developments completed by EllisDon last year! Our team is proud to have built two out of the seven buildings that make up The Well, featuring a variety of retail, restaurants, high-rise condominium buildings, residential rental buildings, and a commercial office tower.

For a more flexible and sustainable alternative to conventional heating and cooling both at The Well and surrounding communities, Enwave Energy Corporation expands its existing Deep Lake Water Cooling (DLWC).

We're excited to have contributed to the growth and development of Toronto's downtown core.

Assistant Manager, Insurance & Bonding (Mississauga, ON) - Assist in the day to day operations of the Insurance & Surety department by performing required duties. Virtual Design & Construction Services Manager (BIM) (Mississauga, ON) - Oversee the planning, organization, and execution of VDC Services projects and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The VDC Services Manager ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

HVAC Technician - G1 (Greater Toronto Area, ON) - Troubleshoot, clean, repair, replace, install, and maintain air conditioning and equipment such as fridges, freezers, ice machines, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, associated pumps and valves, air dryers, air handling units and cooling systems of medical equipment throughout the hospital, including kitchen, retail space, labs, pharmacy, clinical, and patient treatment areas.

Software Security Architect (Mississauga, ON) - Lead the security program for EllisDon’s construction management software and will develop a security-first culture within the organization.

Planificateur(trice) (Bagotville, Saguenay, QC) - Aider les chefs de projet et les chefs de chantier à créer des calendriers à court terme et à surveiller ces calendriers pour déterminer leur impact sur le calendrier principal. Suivre l'avancement des projets, notamment en identifiant les activités critiques et en examinant les prévisions et les progrès réalisés à ce jour.
