As someone who personally swore an oath to defend our Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, a couple of thoughts spring to mind. First, it's a wonder that Jeffrey thinks he can divine Trump's position on any subject, given the constant stream of contradictory statements that Trump issues. Second, given the number of 4-4 splits on the Supreme Court over the years (due to vacancies and recusals) there does seem to be some room for interpreting our Constitution, so it is likely that a similar point by point argument could be made against any candidate--from either major party--running for public office regarding their support of various sections of the Constitution.

So good, Jeff, thanks for taking the time shedding light on such important matters. Will our Constitution continue protecting the values and ideals? True that our nation still falls far short of achieving our aspirations but a Trump presidency would set us back centuries.

Powerful. Important. Is Trump qualified to swear to uphold the Constitution and faithfully execute the law when he dismisses them as inconveniences?

thank you for the clear analysis. Another aspect is judicial independence--Article III of that protects judges from influence from the other 3 branches of government.
